A Thousand Words: An Introduction

Hello and good day to all😊  This blog exists as a medium to post my series of creative writing in order to fulfil my third task of the course TSLB3252 (Creative Writing). Taking this opportunity, of course, I might as well promote my other blog here πŸ˜‰ (the only difference is the content is bilingual while the author is the same person, which is me.).  . Anyway, let me tell you a little bit about this blog name and its URL. As you can see, this blog name is A Thousand Words and it is as literal as it is. Though it is named A Thousand Words because the song A Thousand Years was playing in my head, I thought that it would sound good if I named it like so. For publicity purposes, see. And, won't all the creative posts here reach 1000 words, after all?  . However, is it enough to convey our complex emotions with a thousand words? Have you ever heard this: "a thousand words and I still can't tell you I like you" (the pickup line, phew). Have you ever felt li...

Teach Me How

I can’t read nor write They look at me with pity Like I’m born silly You don’t know what it’s like. Sometimes they get mad, alright They said this should be easy But reading frustrates me Cause I can’t get b and d right.   Why wouldn’t they know It’s tough for me too Why couldn’t they show How to get this through Cause I do want to know How to read like you do. -sakinah, 13/11/2020- p/s: This poem is written to promote the digital innovation I created to fulfil the requirements of my coursework (TSLB31152-Digital Innovation in Teaching and Learning). My digital innovation project is aimed to help young learners and dyslexic pupils in recognizing letter sounds and shapes as well as spelling English words.  This is a piece of art men think they are smart but we know that's not true for they never knew that women do fart.

Flower of Innocence

She wears a daisy black hair tucked behind her ears oh to be like her.

Puzzle

I was staring at the sea The waves were charging at me But they quickly went back Then they came again. Was I like that too Back and forth Repeating mistakes Putting in the wrong piece In a messy puzzle Knowing it’s wrong And yet, I Keep putting in the wrong piece Honestly, what’s wrong with me? Was I like that too Back and forth In between  Giving it up or keeping it up The puzzle was still a mess And still, I Couldn’t figure out my way Honestly, what’s wrong with me? But it was time To be free         The waves were never the same They came back different And the puzzle shall be There was no wrong piece For it was an abstract picture Put a different piece And it shall come out different And I could never be wrong For it was made to be different For every different decision. -27/3/2020- p/s: not sure if it makes any sense though

The Sun and The Moon

He was the sun. Like how the sun fills the sky with its brilliance and warmth, he filled the world with his light and spirit. He shone brightly, that he glowed in the soft light from the window. But none can get closer to him, for none was strong enough.             She was the moon. Like how he was full of light and spirit, she was bright and lovely. She was beautiful, and people looked at her with fondness. She was a reflection of him, like how the moon reflects the sun.             The sun and the moon, a very sad tale. They could never meet, though she was his reflection. He went to find her, but he missed. For she had already passed him. It was their fate, to long for each other but can never cross path. Deep Sleep

He had a pair of sunken eyes Was never seen without those eyes Misery was his middle name Was he still in the game Was he living aimlessly Perhaps he lived foolishly Nobody ever knows Or perhaps it shows The meaning of his sighs But no one asked whys Did he cry of blame That he never overcame Those sunken eyes were always empty Maybe his time stopped already Perhaps he knows That it was time to go Finally into a deep sleep.
