A Crown of A Thousand Stars: Explained
First
of all, I would like to give credit to Vienna @see-through-stars (Tumblr) who
posted the title prompt as a mod on _writing_ideas_ on Instagram and its

Anyway, as mentioned in the post title, I would like to explain the meaning behind the poem as I fear that my intention is not delivered well through the poem. So first, the title A Crown of A Thousand Stars is interpreted as the honour of hopes and dreams. I'll tell you the reason behind my interpretation.
Crown is associated with honour, glory, pride or victory while stars often symbolise hopes, dreams, magics or wonders. To wear a crown of a thousand stars meant to honour a thousand of your dreams and wonders. And that's important because dreams and hopes are what keeping us all living, don't they?
I started the poem with the image of a child. We were all once a child. We all dreamed of wonderful things. We all dreamed of ice-creams and magics (ok maybe not ice-creams). We were lovely children full of hopes and innocence. We asked questions, we kept on pondering over things, we explored things. We were curious.
But what happened when we grew up? Reality hits us. We lost our innocence. We stopped asking questions, we stopped being curious. We lost our hopes and dreams too. We thought our dreams were unreal. Impossible. We once wanted to reach the stars but now we just stared at the stars. We grew tired of the journey to reach the stars. And the feeling of wanting to reach the stars had gone too. The second stanza refers to us, who had lost our hopes or had to forget our dreams, just to survive.
How many of us gave up our dreams because our dreams cannot feed us? How many of us, who instead of travelling around the world, had to work 24/7 in an office just to have a bowl of rice for dinner? At some point in life, we had to forget our own dreams. Because that's just how it is for everyone.
But dreams never fade away completely, do they? We still keep them deep in our heart, hoping that someday we can still achieve them. That's hope. And that's what kept us moving. At least, dreaming is free of charge.
So please, keep dreaming. Chase your dreams. Or at least keep them close to your heart. You'll be happier. When you know what you want, you'll win whatever battle you're fighting.
